Role Description

Are you an experienced freelance linguist in Taiwan with a deep understanding of software engineering terminology, cloud tech, or enterprise IT systems? We are seeking professional Freelance English to Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) Translators and Post-Editors to collaborate on high-impact, global IT localization projects.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in adapting cutting-edge technology for the Taiwanese market, ensuring that complex software, technical documentation, and user interfaces sound natural, precise, and locally relevant. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Native fluency in Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) with an exceptional, nuanced command of source English.
  • Minimum 3+ years of professional freelance experience specializing in IT, SaaS, Cloud Computing, or software localization.
  • Proven track record of translating for major global tech enterprises, enterprise software providers, or hardware/software brands.
  • High familiarity with modern translation technology and environments (e.g. SDL Trados Studio) is an advantage.

Requirements

  • Translate and post-edit (MTPE) high-impact IT materials, including software UI, developer documentation, cloud platform content, and technical help guides from English into Traditional Chinese for Taiwan (zh-TW).
  • Strictly adhere to industry-standard Taiwanese IT terminology (e.g., ensuring local preferences for technical terms are meticulously followed).
  • Maintain exceptional consistency and quality using client-specific glossaries, style guides, and translation memories (TM).
  • Coordinate with international Project Managers and QA Reviewers to meet fast-paced development cycles and release deadlines.
  • Perform comprehensive self-checking and LQA to ensure deliverables are functionally and linguistically flawless before submission.
  • Must be currently based and operating from Taiwan.
