Role Description

Language verifiers’ duties include:

• Creating language verification tests
• Quality control of existing language verification tests
• Evaluating language test submissions
• Quality control on audio and video files

The nature of the role is ongoing and project-based. The workload is dependent on project needs. Payment is based on work completed at the rates listed below:

• Language verification test review - USD $50, one-time fee
• Language verification test grading - USD $15 per graded submission

Responsibilities

• Carry out assigned tasks
• Meet assigned deadlines
• Report progress in a proactive manner to project managers
• Communicate with project managers in a timely and effective manner
• Follow guidelines and requirements as dictated by the project manager
• Communicate in English with project managers via email (verbal communication is not required)

Qualifications

• Highly proficient (C2 CEFR) in Danish
• Ability to read and write in the required language
• Familiarity with linguistics, grammar, and writing systems of the required language
• Knowledge of colloquialisms, grammar, and linguistic idiosyncrasies unique to the required language
• Ability to record yourself speaking clearly in a quiet environment
• Responsiveness to email
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Computer and internet skills
• Web search skills
• Typing
• A good command of English is preferred

Requirements

• Highly proficient (C2 CEFR) in the required language, including the ability to read and write
• Previous professional experience working in the required language
• Formal education in the required language, secondary school or higher, strongly preferred
• Masters or PhD in Linguistics, Translation Studies, or the required language, preferred
• Personal laptop or access to a computer
• Access to the internet
• Access to email
• The job cannot be completed from your phone
• Payment methods are PayPal, Payoneer, or otherwise agreed-upon method
• Payment will be made on a 30-day pay cycle
• Please note that the pay rate is in US dollars and payment will be made in US dollars
