Role Description

Help shape the future of AI in Brazil! We are building a next‑generation benchmark to evaluate how well AI systems handle complex, real‑world questions in Brazilian Portuguese. This project will help improve how AI delivers accurate, reliable, and context‑aware responses for the Brazilian market.

We are seeking Brazilian Portuguese Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in Literature & Linguistics to create high‑quality, expert‑level question‑and‑answer content. This role goes beyond basic data labeling and requires deep domain knowledge, critical thinking, and strong writing skills to test advanced reasoning and contextual understanding in Brazilian Portuguese.

• Suitable backgrounds may include:
• Lingusts & philologists: Academics or researchers specializing in sociolinguistics, historical linguistics, or syntax, particularly with a focus on Brazilian Portuguese dialects and evolution.
• Literary scholars & critics: PhDs or senior researchers in Comparative Literature, Brazilian Literature, or Literary Theory with experience in deep textual analysis and criticism.
• Professional editors & lexicographers: Senior editors from major publishing houses or experts involved in dictionary compilation and language standardization.
• Translators & Localizers: Senior literary translators or localization experts who specialize in adapting complex creative works between English and Brazilian Portuguese.
• Creative writers & poets: Published authors or long-form writers with a deep command of narrative structure, stylistics, and creative prose.
• Grammarians & educators: Specialized professors or textbook authors with expertise in advanced Portuguese grammar, orthography (including the CPLP standards), and discourse analysis.
• Cultural journalists: Critics or essayists who specialize in literary reviews and contemporary cultural movements in the Lusophone world.

Qualifications

• Native or fluent proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese (pt-BR)
• 5–10+ years of professional experience in a relevant field
• Demonstrated expertise through academic background and/or industry experience
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, structured manner
• Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality output in a guideline-driven environment

Requirements

• Experience with content creation, research, education, or knowledge evaluation (Nice to Have)
• Familiarity with AI training, data annotation, or evaluation projects (Nice to Have)
• Background in interdisciplinary work (e.g. cultural studies, history, sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, philosophy of language) (Nice to Have)
