  • Support the development of AP course-specific guidelines
  • Verify citations and source information as needed
  • Use content management systems and authoring platforms to successfully review and produce error-free, publication-ready materials
  • Perform rigorous "copy-to-copy" comparisons of excerpted passages to original sources to uphold fidelity, accuracy, and accessibility
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and proposing smarter, more effective editorial practices, including the continued exploration of innovative technologies in editorial processes
  • Oversee editorial reviews of exam questions and associated materials for all AP World Language (WL) courses (20%)
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality across all AP WL assessment content using expertise in multilingual editing work and expertise in AP Exam style
  • In collaboration with the Senior Director, AP Editorial Quality, Director, AP Editorial Quality, and Director, Editorial Production, serve as a liaison between external editorial consultants and internal subject matter experts for all AP WL courses, providing clear guidance and feedback for improvement
  • Apply specialized editorial expertise to the review of all AP WL courses by enhancing resources and guiding and supporting fellow editors through training and thoughtful review
  • Support the development of course-specific guidelines and editorial resources

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional copyediting experience in both English and Spanish; editorial experience with bilingual content, preferably in secondary or postsecondary education
  • Fluency and proficiency in both English and Spanish, in all modalities
  • Demonstrated proofreading and editing skills
  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Extensive, demonstrated experience in the application of professional style guides in editorial work and knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style and the Real Academia Española
  • Experience editing and working in a variety of content management systems and technical platforms
  • Strong organizational, time, and task management skills and the ability to move forward multiple projects in concert while meeting timelines, both independently and as a member of the team
  • A growth mindset and flexibility when working through ambiguity and shifting priorities in a dynamic, collaborative setting
  • Ability to travel 3 to 5 times per year or <15% to College Board offices or on behalf of College Board Business
