Role Description

This is a rare opportunity to make an impact in multiple domains, including mental health, behavioral science, journalism, and online culture. The Assistant Editor will:

• Generate content across online, print, and social platforms.
• Manage relationships with our large network of expert authors.
• Assess content for both scientific rigor and optimized reach.
• Handle contributor queries and onboarding.
• Support planning and budget tracking.
• Contribute to content packaging.
• Perform additional administrative duties.

The role also has a meaningful social media dimension:

• Identify promising story ideas.
• Shape stories for social media.
• Write sharp captions and hooks.
• Edit website copy.
• Produce video assets that feel native to each platform.

Qualifications

• Strong writing and editing fundamentals.
• Familiarity with audience-building.
• Background in translational science writing and clinical or research psychology (a big plus).
• Strong online graphic and visual instincts.
• Comfortable packaging art, images, and video.

Requirements

• Creative individual with a strong editorial and visual skill set.
• Particular interest/expertise in short-form video.
• Comfortable working across all verticals, especially social media.

Benefits

• Compensation: $70K to $85K.
