[Hiring] Analyst, Deals, NYT Wirecutter @The New York Times

Role Description

Wirecutter is seeking a detail-oriented, diligent, and analytical individual to assist our Deals Team. This fast-paced role requires a working understanding of sales and discounts online and a commitment to accuracy in order to best serve Wirecutter readers. Availability to work extended shifts on select days is preferred. This position is an hourly rate contract role. This role has the potential to be remote.

• Maintain deals onsite for our readers: Scan internal and external deal sources to maintain accurate pricing and information on Wirecutter picks.
• Write and edit deals copy as needed.
• Update our internal price history documentation.
• Cover deals events: Be an essential part of how we help readers avoid bad deals and find good ones during large sales events.
• Perform related work as assigned.
• Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.

You will report to the Senior Editor, Deals.

Qualifications

• A familiarity with the Wirecutter voice and approach to deal coverage, and a passion for our journalistic standards and ethics.
• An analytical mindset and ability to leverage data and SEO resources.
• Must be able to work holidays and weekends during high-volume windows if required.

Requirements

• Copywriting and editing experience.
• Work with a remote team, with an emphasis on internal communications.
• Enjoy helping others.

Benefits

• The annual base pay range for this role is between $80,000 — $90,000 USD.
• For roles in the U.S., you may be eligible for variable pay, such as an annual bonus and restricted stock.
