Role Description

The client seeks a Consultant to provide ongoing WordPress management for its public-facing website, which must remain on WordPress and retain its current look and feel unless the client approves a change. The selected Contractor shall manage the site and hosting, keep it up to date, and support client personnel on an ongoing basis.

• Maintenance and Security:
  • Keeping WordPress core, themes, and plugins up to date without disrupting the live site.
  • Providing backups with defined schedules and retention periods.
  • Performing and verifying restore testing.
  • Monitoring uptime to meet a 99.9% monthly target (excluding announced maintenance).
  • Enforcing multifactor authentication and named accounts for all administrators with quarterly reviews of users and roles.
  • Detecting, responding to, and remediating security incidents while notifying the client.
• Accessibility Upkeep:
  • Confirming that each update preserves WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance before going live.
  • Monitoring the site for accessibility failures and reporting new ones.
  • Obtaining client approval before adding, replacing, or removing a theme or plugin.
  • Providing accessibility conformance reports or test results for each change.
• Website Assistance:
  • Helping client personnel with page edits, forms, menus, media, and documents.
  • Receiving, tracking, and fixing problems reported by staff.
• Reporting and SLA:
  • Providing a service level agreement (SLA) including response times for outages, urgent issues, and routine requests.
  • Measuring and reporting performance against the SLA.
  • Delivering scheduled reports covering updates, backups, uptime, security events, accessibility scan results, and open issues.
• Billing Structure:
  • Proposing a block of support hours and an hourly rate for work beyond that block.
  • Describing how to track, report, and bill hours.

Qualifications

• Experience with websites containing forms, PDFs/electronic documents, multimedia, third-party tools, and other comparable functionality.
• Experience with content management systems (specifically WordPress).
• Experience performing both accessibility assessment and actual remediation.

Company Description
