Role Description

He/she will perform highly visible on-site and remote software installations and upgrades of all Varian software products, which include troubleshooting and diagnosis as needed.

• Work with physical and virtual environments, operating systems, databases, and other software and networking technologies.
• Review scope of work for assigned tasks to ensure all hardware and software components are available.
• Complete all necessary task documentation to meet Varian’s Quality processes and procedures.
• Maintain customer system inventories using Keystone or equivalent.
• Keep current on Varian products and technologies through both internal and external training and certification.
• Collaborate with project management, software planning, local service, hardware installation, and remote software deployment teams to ensure successful project execution and deliver World Class Customer Service.
• Demonstrate equipment operation and specifications according to the Customer Acceptance Procedure (CAP).
• Perform installation readiness reviews of customer IT infrastructure and project plans to confirm key prerequisites are in place and identify any potential issues requiring further assessment.
• Facilitate training and mentoring of new Installation Representatives as required.
• Coordinate with subject matter experts as required to support installation and upgrade activities.
• Require minimum supervision.

Specific functions or duties:

• Perform software installation and upgrade activities on small to medium-sized projects, working closely with project and technical teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Input detailed records of installation and upgrade work performed into company information systems to ensure accurate updated customer installation information is available to other functions.
• Maintain a high degree of professionalism and safety according to company guidelines and customer regulations in order to perform activities under the safest working conditions.
• Report by means of daily report, work order, timecard, expense reports, etc. regularly and in a timely fashion to ensure that accurate company statistical data on customer-oriented activities is available.
• Complete all required installation documentation that pertains to the job being completed and update all requested and/or required data for tracking purposes as per the applicable Varian’s Quality processes and procedures.
• Use prescribed problem-resolution escalation procedures and request technical assistance, when necessary, in a timely manner.
• Provide feedback on products and documentation to improve installation processes.
• Train, mentor, and advise new and less experienced Installation Representatives in all aspects of the job. Provide feedback on performance of Installation Representatives to incumbents and management.
• Travel up to 75% of the time across ASEAN and Korea as needed.

Qualifications

• Hold at least a bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, etc. or equivalent, or at least 5-8 years of experience in related fields, such as healthcare, medical or hospital environment, which is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V. Relevant certifications are an advantage.
• Experience administering Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and common server roles and features.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP addressing, routing, firewall concepts, and network connectivity troubleshooting.
• Able to diagnose and resolve common network and system communication issues using standard troubleshooting methodologies and tools.
• Experience with Citrix or other remote application delivery and virtualization platforms is an advantage.
• Sound professional technical experience with system software and excellent debugging skills.
• Possess a valid passport and are able to travel internationally on short notice within ASEAN, Korea, and other countries as required.
• Highly organized with detailed planning skills.
• Customer-focused attitude.
• Articulate and skilled in interpersonal communication.
• Proficient in the local language (Thai, Bahasa Malaysia) and in English, both written and spoken.
