[Hiring] Software Engineer II @Mindlance

Role Description

Seeking a Software Engineer with foundational experience or exposure to Machine Learning (ML). The individual in this role will contribute to defined project deliverables, collaborating with cross-functional partners to build, improve, and maintain software systems.

• Support the "WAIST" (Why Am I Seeing This?) feature across Facebook and Instagram.
• Manage and maintain ML classification models.
• Monitor data quality and analyze dataset integrity.
• Investigate performance regressions.
• Identify system gaps to prevent invalid configurations from being onboarded.
• Ensure operational excellence by maintaining quality guardrails across ML pipelines.
• Deliver well-scoped software enhancements and features aligned to project goals and timelines.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following established engineering standards.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve quality and reliability.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, design, data, security) to support execution of defined deliverables.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for implemented solutions.
• Contribute to operational excellence, including monitoring, incident response support, and performance improvements as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with developing evaluated machine learning models - particularly classification models.
• Experience building or supporting ML systems in production environments.
• 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, Go, or similar).
• Experience building, testing, and maintaining production-quality software.
• Experience with common development practices and tools (e.g., version control, code review, CI/CD).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
