[Hiring] Software Engineer II, DevOps @Morning Consult

Role Description

Our engineering teams are building the next generation of AI-powered products. In this role, you’ll build the platform our engineers stand on: the infrastructure, pipelines and tooling that let them ship AI-powered products quickly and safely. You’ll work side by side with product and data engineers, have a real voice in architecture decisions, and own meaningful projects from scoping through rollout.

What You'll Do

• Own infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines so engineering teams can ship safely, often and with confidence.
• Bring an infrastructure perspective to architecture decisions early, working alongside engineers rather than at handoff.
• Improve observability, alerting and incident response, tracing problems to root cause and sharing what we learn.
• Lead defined infrastructure projects from scoping through rollout.
• Keep our AWS environment secure, reliable and cost-efficient.
• Review teammates' infrastructure code and share what you learn.
• Use AI tools in your own infrastructure work, and share what works so the whole team gets faster.

Qualifications

• Hands-on AWS experience with core services (e.g., EC2, EKS or ECS, S3, IAM, networking).
• 2-4 years of DevOps engineering experience, ideally in a small or mid-size company where you’ve worn several hats.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform or CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines.
• A track record of owning projects end to end and explaining technical tradeoffs clearly to engineers outside infrastructure.
• Curiosity about AI and experience using AI tools to speed up infrastructure, debugging or automation work.
• Nice to have: Kubernetes experience.

Benefits

• The expected salary range for this position is $93,300 – $150,100, with a midpoint of $121,700.
• This role is eligible for an equity grant, which will be discussed in your initial recruiter conversation.
