[Hiring] Lead Software Engineer @CoderPad

Role Description

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our EMEA Engineering team in France (remote).

As a Lead Software Engineer at CoderPad, you’ll design, build, and ship features across our full stack — taking ownership of complex technical problems end to end and raising the engineering bar for the EMEA team. You’ll combine hands-on coding with technical leadership:

• Driving architecture decisions, backlog grooming, and planning with the Product Manager.
• Ensuring what we ship is reliable, scalable, and a pleasure for developers to use.

This role is located in France and works standard CET / CEST hours, collaborating asynchronously with our distributed EMEA and US teams.

What you’ll be doing:

• Design and develop new full-stack features (React / TypeScript on the frontend, Java, Node.js, or Ruby on the backend) in collaboration with the Product Manager and the designer.
• Use AI coding assistants and agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) as a core part of your workflow.
• Contribute to architectural and technical design decisions within the team.
• Write automated tests and ensure code quality through code reviews.
• Deploy and monitor your own features in production (GitLab, AWS, Kubernetes).
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team’s engineering practices.
• Partner with Product and other teams to scope, prioritise, and deliver impactful work.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including senior or lead-level ownership.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (Java, Ruby, Node.js), a modern frontend framework (ideally React), and SQL.
• Solid experience designing scalable, reliable systems and conducting thorough code reviews.
• Comfortable working autonomously in a distributed, remote-first environment.
• Hands-on experience leveraging AI tools to ship faster — code generation, agentic workflows, scripting/automation, or building internal tooling on top of LLMs.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Requirements

• €65,000 - €75,000 a year.
• Compensation for this role is base salary only (no variable component).
• Base salary range (in EUR): €65,000 – €75,000.
• Exact salary is based on skills, experience, location, market ranges, and other compensation offered.
• The salary range does not include equity and company-wide benefits you may be eligible to receive.
