Role Description

We are seeking an experienced J2EE Microservices Architect to lead the design, development, and modernization of enterprise applications using Java/J2EE and cloud-native microservices architectures. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in defining application architecture, establishing development standards, and guiding engineering teams in building scalable, resilient, and high-performing distributed systems.

This position requires deep expertise in Java technologies, Spring ecosystem, API design, cloud platforms, containerization, DevOps practices, and enterprise integration patterns. The Architect will collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, developers, and DevOps engineers while supporting global teams across North America and LATAM.

  • Define and implement enterprise architecture solutions using Java/J2EE and Microservices architecture.
  • Lead application modernization initiatives, including monolithic-to-microservices transformations.
  • Design scalable, secure, and highly available distributed systems.
  • Develop architecture blueprints, technical roadmaps, and technology standards.
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures.
  • Guide development teams on best practices for coding, testing, security, and performance optimization.
  • Architect cloud-native solutions using Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Design containerized application deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Establish CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for efficient software delivery.
  • Perform architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical assessments.
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with security, governance, and regulatory standards.
  • Mentor developers and technical leads across multiple project teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of software development experience using Java/J2EE technologies.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing Microservices architectures.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Solution Architect or Technical Architect role.
  • Strong expertise in Java 8/11/17 and enterprise application architecture.
  • Experience with modern software design patterns and distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native application development.
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
