Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer (Expert) to lead and contribute to complex enterprise software development initiatives, with a particular focus on mainframe modernisation, application migration, Java development and cloud-based solutions. The successful candidate will combine strong hands-on technical expertise with Agile leadership, project management and stakeholder engagement skills. You will play a key role in developing migration strategies, modernising legacy applications, coordinating technical teams and ensuring that solutions meet quality, security, performance, budget and delivery requirements. This role is suited to a senior technical professional who can navigate complex enterprise environments, drive continuous improvement and translate business requirements into scalable, secure and sustainable technology solutions.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or qualification in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Business or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in IT, software development and/or DevOps environments.
• 10+ years of relevant programming experience.
• 7–10 years of experience working across multiple Agile teams.
• Demonstrated experience in technical leadership, project delivery and managing complex software development initiatives.
• Previous exposure to a finance function, either through direct finance experience or as an Agile Master supporting a finance team.
• Experience in resource planning, budget management, project monitoring and delivery governance.
• Strong proficiency in Java, including object-oriented programming, multithreading, exception handling, collections, generics and input/output.
• Advanced experience with Spring Core, Spring MVC and Spring Boot.
• Strong understanding of enterprise application development, system integration and software architecture.
• Experience with DevOps, BizDevOps and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Working knowledge of AWS and/or Azure cloud technologies.
• Experience with project management, requirements analysis and translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Proficiency in Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, X-Ray and Bitbucket.
• Knowledge of incident, problem and change management processes.
• Experience in software testing, debugging, system implementation and production support.
• Strong understanding of planning, risk management, technical coordination and delivery against agreed timelines.
• Ability to lead and facilitate technical teams using Agile methodologies.
• Strong facilitation, conflict resolution, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to promote transparency, team empowerment, continuous improvement and accountability.
• Strong understanding of Scrum practices, sprint planning, burndown techniques, retrospectives and backlog management.
• Proven ability to manage complex tasks, resolve escalated issues and guide less experienced team members.

Requirements

• Professional Scrum Master II (PSM II), Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM), SAFe Advanced Scrum Master, Leading SAFe Agilist or Scaled Professional Scrum certification.
• Additional Scrum Master or project management certification.
• Experience with mainframe modernisation and migration from COBOL or PL/1 to Java.
• Familiarity with code conversion tools such as Astadia, Heirloom or BlueAge.
• Experience with mainframe technologies, including DB2 and IMS.
• Knowledge of AWS Lambda, serverless development, Kafka, streaming services and Pub/Sub architectures.
• Experience with OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
• Knowledge of J2EE, Hibernate, Servlets, JSP and ORM frameworks.
• Experience with modern frontend technologies such as Angular, React or Vue.js.
• Familiarity with JUnit, TestNG, automated testing and performance profiling tools.
• Experience with cloud architecture, high availability, application modularisation and system decoupling.
• Knowledge of Agile Working Model (AWM), IT project management methodologies and enterprise governance frameworks.
• German language proficiency.
