Role Description

The Software Engineer II is part of a strong team providing software engineering support to design, develop, operate, and maintain software programs. Software engineering support also includes the assessment, maintenance, documentation, modernization, testing, and implementation functions.

Provide development and support for Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) products and customized applications.
Support the Hanford Site Service Catalog using the PMG software platform.
Develop customized screens, design and administer workflows, and provide SQL database support.
Involve .NET and other programming languages with back-end databases developed in SQL Server.
Perform operation and maintenance support for legacy systems and website applications.
Troubleshoot software production issues.
Design databases.
Design PMG software platform screens and workflows.
Understand and follow established Software Development Process.
Assist with providing estimates and gathering requirements from customers.
Assist with developing technical documentation.
Communicate effectively with good written and verbal communication skills.
Work with other project software engineers and interface with the team.

Qualifications

BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
2+ years' relevant experience in a multi-platform environment including application or database development.
2-3 years' experience in JavaScript.
2-3 years' experience in SQL design/support.
1-2 years' experience in development of applications using .NET technology.
Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to work in a team-oriented collaborative environment.
Ability to work in a multi-task, multi-project development environment.
Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
Strong customer relationship skills.

Requirements

Must pass pre-employment background check.
Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
Applicants are required to have REAL ID ACT compliant documentation at time of hire.
Proof of citizenship will be required as a condition of employment.
Ability to occasionally work during non-standard business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in customizing and developing workflows for Enterprise COTS applications.
Experience with business process development with platforms like PMG.
Experience with Crystal Reports.
1-2 years' experience with AzureDevOps or other source control technology.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be sitting for long periods of time in an office environment, but will also be required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
