Role Description
This role involves designing and building best-in-class solutions, performing business/software analysis, and leading feature development from discovery to rollout and support.
- Drive development of existing software and contribute to new software development by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement.
- Develop software that is fast, secure, and reliable to meet defined requirements.
- Monitor, identify, and correct more complex software defects to maintain fully functioning software.
- Produce multiple concepts and prototypes to design digital products/services.
- Research and suggest ways to optimize solutions to better meet user and/or business performance and quality needs.
- Drive maintenance roadmap to facilitate software development and ensure development work is prioritized in line with business requirements.
- Find root cause and resolution to limit and address issues promptly.
- Assign short-term work schedules to a team based on storyboarding/backlog to achieve expectations while following established timelines.
- Develop own and junior team member capabilities through assessment, development planning, and training.
- Maintain understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education.
- Contribute to work within an established program management plan to achieve specific goals.
- Guide and deliver the design distribution of basic database resources and provide physical modeling and design services.
- Support the collection of functional requirements using document analysis and workflow analysis.
- Work on Java/Spring applications supporting the eCommerce website and mobile app.
- Knowledge of Azure deployed services (specifically Redis, Cosmos, and Postgres) and asynchronous messaging queues (specifically Kafka) is useful.
- Code is managed via GitHub and deployed through Concourse and GitHub actions.
- Applications are currently deployed to PCF with a plan of migrating to Kubernetes in the near future.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent level preferred
- General Experience: Over 3 to 6 years of experience
- Managerial Experience: Basic experience of coordinating the work of others (4 to 6 months)
