Role Description

This role involves developing and maintaining automated tests and in-house software utilities to improve customer-facing software solutions.

Uses testing libraries and frameworks such as JUnit, Cucumber, Mockito, and Easy Mock.
Implements process improvements within Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) environments -- Agile/Scrum.
Uses Java to produce accurate and maintainable code for test automation and software utilities.
Utilizes open-source platforms such as Docker, CloudFormation, or EKS to build, deploy, run, and manage containerized applications.
Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.
Develops original and creative technical solutions to ongoing development efforts.
Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer and Information Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation).
Alternatively, a Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in the same fields and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer.

Requirements

Experience analyzing, designing, developing, testing, and implementing internet and client or server applications in a financial services environment using J2EE Technologies, JavaScript MVC Frameworks, Web services, Java 8, PostgreSQL, AWS, and Agile software development methodologies.
Demonstrated expertise in designing and developing responsive client-side applications using JavaScript MVC frameworks and client-side technologies (HTML5, CSS).
Knowledge of web security principles (XSS/CSRF) and Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
Experience configuring Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) and test automation using Jenkins, Ant, Maven, AWS, or Azure.
Ability to script automated application deployment flows using Git Stash and prepare test scripts for application performance testing using JMeter.
Experience migrating legacy applications to modern Cloud-ready, microservice-based architectures.
Ability to perform data modeling of complex applications using Oracle or PostgreSQL.
Experience developing testing applications to validate end-to-end trading, accounting, and cash management business processes using J2EE technologies.
