Role Description

This role involves joining a small but highly productive team of talented engineers working on our newly developed Python platform.

Work on internal tooling and implement new features proposed by the growth team
Expand the use of industry standards and design patterns
Ensure the team adopts best practices
Focus on web application development for an ecommerce system
Undertake business logic and backend APIs for the customer-facing website, internal tools, and recurring billing system
Thrive in a fast-paced environment and support the team in every way possible
Take on a leading role within the team, mentoring junior developers and enforcing best practices
Participate in morning stand-ups and peer reviews
Develop high-quality, tested, and scalable Python microservices for AWS
Collaborate with the tech lead to recommend solutions that satisfy functional and non-functional needs
Champion and share best practices to improve team and code over time
Inform others of blockers and communicate technical limitations or implementation misuse

Qualifications

Significant experience working as an engineer on Python and related backend technology
A deep understanding of Python and its ecosystem
Track record of successfully completing complex projects and making technical decisions
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex challenges independently
Experience building quality and highly scalable backend systems
Excellent understanding and experience of programming languages and paradigms
Enthusiastic self-starter able to work in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability to build and maintain authentic relationships and trust with excellent communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including non-technical members of the organization
Any additional experience with Fast API, REST APIs, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, Alembic, Microservices, API Gateway, Lambda, ECR, Terraform, and AWS Cloud is advantageous

Requirements

Proficiency in Python
Experience with MySQL, FastAPI, API Gateway, Lambda, Step Functions, Terraform, and AWS Cloud
