Role Description
As a mobile engineer, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and deploying the Rain and our white label apps to thousands of users across the United States. You will need to communicate efficiently with Product and Design teams to implement their requirements with the quality standard expected of all Rain features.
- Passion for frontend/mobile development, particularly in Javascript/Typescript
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant professional experience in mobile development
- Excellent software design, problem-solving, and debugging skills
- Strong understanding of React Native fundamentals, components, and lifecycle
- Experience bridging iOS (Swift or Objective-C) and Android (Kotlin or Java) with React Native
- Ability to implement pixel-perfect UI's that match designs
- Experience with deploying and managing apps on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
- Solid understanding of ES6+ features and experience with TypeScript
- Hands-on experience with Redux, Context API, or similar state management libraries
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, React Query, and asynchronous data handling
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows
- Strong debugging skills using tools like React Native Debugger, Reactotron, or Chrome DevTools
- Knowledge of responsive design principles and mobile-first development
- Experience with unit and integration testing using Jest
- Ability to collaborate with designers, product managers, and backend developers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (nice-to-have)
- Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and reasoning about space/time complexity (nice-to-have)
- Experience with CI/CD: Gitlab and Bitbucket pipelines (nice-to-have)
- Design skills (Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) (nice-to-have)
- Experience with native development: Objective-C, Swift (iOS), or Kotlin, Java (Android) (nice-to-have)
- Experience with e2e testing tools: Applitools (or similar) and Playwright (nice-to-have)
- Fintech startup experience (nice-to-have)
- Familiarity with mobile analytics and crash reporting tools (e.g., Firebase, Sentry) (nice-to-have)
- Experience with Expo or similar frameworks (nice-to-have)
