Role Description
We’re looking for a sharp, self-motivated, problem-solving Senior Backend Engineer to join our team.
As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Platform team, you'll help ensure that CompanyCam's engineers have everything they need to be happy and productive. Your responsibilities will include:
- Enhancing monitoring to help teams better track performance as we scale
- Updating our eventing library
- Refining our Sidekiq queue management
- Speeding up our local development environment
Every day, you'll own a project from start to finish and be encouraged to pitch your own ideas to continually improve our platform and processes.
Most importantly, you’ll actively contribute to the evolution of the culture and processes of a growing engineering team, especially our backend engineering discipline.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails
- Familiarity with Redis, PostgreSQL, and Sidekiq in a production environment
- Strong understanding of backend fundamentals - building APIs, managing background jobs, and debugging performance or reliability issues in a large, evolving Rails monolith
- You live and work permanently in the U.S.

- Experience with AWS (S3, EC2, etc.)

- This is a salaried position at CompanyCam with a salary range of $165,000 - $175,000 per year based on experience
