Role Description
This role involves network design and implementation, ensuring compliance with standards and deploying new technologies to meet business needs.
- Design, engineering, and implementation of complex network solutions
- Perform a consultative role to both internal and external customers
- Network design (high level and low level) and architecture oversight
- Understanding of large-scale network capacity management and modeling
- Monitor network performance and ensure proactive capacity planning
- Drive and implement network solutions-based architectures
- Design solutions for M&A situations on Network level
- Contribute to documentation, automation, and process improvement
- Provide strategic technical direction on complex network projects
- Perform client and market research to define strategy and direction
- Research and develop innovative solutions around existing network solutions
- Create product road maps and write user stories and requirements
- Provide L3 support for investigation and troubleshooting of network issues
- Lead self and others as Product SME or specialist
- Network security infrastructure solutions including firewalls
- Manage multiple projects and plan Network roadmap
- Analyze current and future IT industry trends
Qualifications
- Network engineering, design, and architecture expertise
- Exposure to LAN/WAN, firewalls, wireless, security, VOIP, QoS, and encryption technologies
- Mastery of TCP/IP protocol communications, addressing & subnetting
- Firewall experience: Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA
- Extensive knowledge of Cisco’s product portfolio
- Extensive knowledge of network diagnostics, protocols, and disciplines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and listening skills
- Ability to act professionally and communicate with all levels of the organization
- Methodical problem-solving skills and mastery of network designs
- Cisco certifications such as CCNP or CCDP, CCIE, or CCDE desired
- Experience in Software Defined Networking
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
- Excellent English speaking and writing skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role and overall 6+ years in the network space
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of routing and switching protocols
- Experience with SDN technologies such as Cisco ACI, VMWare NSX
- Working knowledge of scripting/automation tools such as Python, Ansible
- Experience with load balancing technologies such as F5, Netscaler, A10
