Role Description
The Android Engineer for our Apps Platform team is an engineering role, ensuring that our Android App technical domain and solutions meet both our current and future organisational and customer needs.
- Working alongside product managers and design system team to implement product features across Carsales domain
- Focus on app performance and speed to market
- Identify new patterns and solve them, serving multiple experience teams that integrate seamlessly with our core platform
- Provide technical leadership across Buy Platform (Web & API) and Design System (TORQ)
- Collaborate and converge with iOS and Android teams for timely technical decisions
- Drive initiatives such as enhancing the implementation of the design system, upgrading CI pipelines, and driving automation test strategies
- Define future opportunities and engage with stakeholders at various levels
- Mentor and coach other app engineers to ensure the team is at the forefront of technical innovation
- Assist in defining the team’s vision and roadmap by thoroughly understanding customers’ needs
Qualifications
- Proven technical engineer of large mobile apps teams in high traffic, complex, and fast-paced environments
- Experience in the build and adoption of app platform capabilities and design systems
- Strategic thinker and technical expert in the world of apps
- Ability to define and communicate an inspiring technical vision to various stakeholders
- Strong conceptual understanding and ability to communicate effectively
- Humble team player with proven ability to build relationships and connect people at all levels
