Role Description
Put Your Relationships to Work. You already know the contractors, fleet owners, farmers, and dealers in your market. You know what they operate and when they are ready to sell. At TAC Auction, those relationships can become a rewarding sales career.
We are hiring an experienced outside sales professional to secure auction consignments of heavy equipment, commercial trucks, trailers, and entire fleets. You will work from a home base in or near Gainesville, Georgia, and follow your relationships wherever they lead. We do not draw rigid territory lines.
This is an active prospecting role. We provide some leads, but most of your business will come from the calls, visits, and relationships you develop yourself. If owners in trucking, construction, or agriculture already take your calls, we can teach you the auction side.
What You Will Do
-
Secure consignments of equipment, trucks, trailers, and fleets from contractors, fleet owners, dealers, lenders, and business owners.
-
Prospect consistently through existing contacts, referrals, cold calls, and in-person visits.
-
Identify opportunities involving surplus equipment, fleet replacements, business closures, and liquidations.
-
Meet with owners, understand their goals, and explain TAC’s auction process.
-
Gather accurate asset information and work with our team on valuations, auction strategy, and seller expectations.
-
Complete photography and inspections for smaller consignments, with team support available for larger projects.
-
Maintain accurate customer records, follow-up activities, and sales opportunities in our CRM.
-
Coordinate with marketing, logistics, titles, and operations to prepare assets for sale.
-
Attend industry events and maintain a strong presence in your market.
-
Meet consignment goals and build repeat business.
-
Expect field travel four to five days per week, returning home most nights, with approximately three to five overnight stays per month. Additional travel may be needed based on customer and business opportunities.
Qualifications
-
An established network of owners and decision-makers in construction, trucking, agriculture, equipment rental, or dealerships.
-
Outside sales or business development experience with measurable results. Five or more years is preferred, but the strength of your relationships and sales record matters most.
-
Confidence discussing equipment, asset values, and selling options with business owners and fleet managers.
-
The discipline to plan your schedule, prospect independently, and follow through.
-
Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
-
Comfort using a CRM, email, and an iPad in the field.
-
A valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and a home base in or near Gainesville, Georgia.
-
Willingness to travel throughout the region, including overnight stays.
Preferred
-
Auction industry experience.

Equipment or commercial truck valuation knowledge.
-
Bring the relationships. We will teach you the auction process.

First-year representatives are currently on pace to earn $75,000–$100,000 in total annual compensation.
-
Representatives in years two through five generally earn $120,000–$200,000 annually.

These figures reflect current TAC representative results. Actual earnings depend on individual performance and are not guaranteed.

A ramp-up pay plan may be offered to qualified new hires at TAC’s discretion.
