Role Description
We’re looking for a Strategic Account Executive to join our team remotely in the United States. In this role, you will own and grow a focused portfolio of Planview’s largest and most complex accounts. You’ll build durable executive relationships, shape multi-year account strategies, create new demand, and bring together the right teams to deliver transformational outcomes for customers and meaningful, sustained growth for Planview.
What You'll Do
-
Own and grow a focused portfolio of strategic accounts, developing deep knowledge of each customer’s business, priorities, organization, and decision-making landscape.
-
Build and execute multi-year account strategies that connect customer priorities to Planview’s platform and Value Framework, creating a path to measurable customer value and durable growth.
-
Serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives—including CIOs, CFOs, and CTOs—as well as other senior decision-makers; develop executive sponsors throughout the customer relationship.
-
Create demand by uncovering whitespace, engaging new stakeholders, and identifying unmet needs and strategic initiatives rather than relying only on existing projects or formal RFPs.
-
Lead complex enterprise sales cycles and close large, transformational, multi-product and platform deals, as well as major renewals and expansion opportunities.
-
Lead commercially sophisticated negotiations and structure substantial, multi-year agreements that balance customer value with sustainable business outcomes.
-
Address complex customer challenges and orchestrate internal and external contributors—including executive leadership, Product, Customer Support, Services, Legal, Finance, and partners—to shape solutions and deliver account outcomes.
-
Maintain a clear view of account health, growth plans, risks, and sales forecasts; adapt account strategy and forecast opportunities accurately to support sustained expansion.
-
Share insights from strategic customer relationships, market trends, and competitive positioning to influence Planview’s sales strategy and go-to-market direction; advise senior leadership on account strategy and market direction.
-
Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor to the broader sales organization, sharing best practices in strategic account management and enterprise selling.
Qualifications
-
8+ years of enterprise SaaS sales experience and a demonstrated record of materially growing strategic customer accounts over time—not only closing a single large deal.
-
Experience owning a small portfolio of very large, complex accounts, including global organizations, with account depth beyond managing a broad enterprise territory.
-
Strong executive-level selling skills and a record of building credibility and durable relationships with C-suite decision-makers, particularly CIOs, CFOs, and CTOs.
-
Success developing and executing multi-year account strategies tied to customer priorities and long-term growth.
-
A consultative, value-based selling approach, including the ability to position solutions around customer outcomes and ROI and apply Planview’s Value Framework.
-
A track record of generating demand and finding whitespace by uncovering new business needs, stakeholders, and opportunities—not simply responding to existing projects or RFPs.
-
Success closing large, transformational deals involving multiple products or a platform solution, and leading high-value contract negotiations and multi-year partnership agreements.
-
Strong cross-functional leadership, influence, and judgment to align executives, Product, Customer Support, Services, Legal, Finance, and partners around customer outcomes.
-
The ability to assess account health, identify risks and growth opportunities, and produce accurate forecasts.
-
Deep experience with Salesforce.com and modern sales technology.
-
Excellent executive presence, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders at all levels.
-
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; an MBA is a plus.
Benefits
-
Unplugged Days: 4 company-wide paid days off per year to recharge and relax.
-
Generous PTO offerings (region dependent).
-
Region specific competitive benefit plans to support you at any life stage including parental leave, retirement, medical plans, wellness support, and remote work support.
-
Paid time to volunteer through Planview’s Force for Good Week.
-
Employee Referral bonus program.
-
Weekly office lunches for hybrid team members and social events.
-
Flexible work hours/environment.
