Role Description

We're looking for a Sales Development Representative to open doors for a fast-growing AI-native HR software platform built for local government. You will:

• Research public agencies
• Reach HR leaders through outbound email, LinkedIn, and phone
• Start real conversations and book qualified meetings for the sales team

Selling to local government is different from selling to a typical software company. Buyers are public servants who:

• Have heard every pitch
• Are wary of hype
• Make decisions around budgets, board calendars, and union negotiation timelines

The best SDRs for this role:

• Do their homework
• Write like a human
• Earn attention by being relevant to a specific agency's problems

Qualifications

• Prior experience in outbound sales development, lead generation, or a similar prospecting role, with a record of booking meetings
• Strong written English with the ability to write concise, human outreach that earns replies
• Confident spoken English for phone outreach and live conversations with senior HR and government professionals
• Strong research habits and curiosity about how organizations make decisions
• Organized and disciplined with clean CRM habits and consistent follow-through
• Self-directed and resilient, comfortable working to activity and meeting targets
• Available to work full-time during US business hours

Requirements

• Experience selling to government, public sector, education, or other long-cycle institutional buyers (nice to have)
• Experience in HR technology, SaaS, or selling to HR leaders (nice to have)
• Familiarity with HR topics such as job classification, compensation, or labor relations (nice to have)
• Experience with sales engagement tools such as Apollo, Outreach, or Salesloft (nice to have)
• Experience using AI tools for research and personalization (nice to have)
