[Hiring] Sales Development Representative @US Electrical Services

Role Description

Maurice Electrical Supply is seeking an outgoing, self-motivated Sales Development Representative to win new customers and grow business with existing accounts. This is a customer-facing sales opportunity where cold calling, in-person visits, and consistent follow-up will be major parts of your day. You’ll also manage unassigned accounts and reconnect with customers whose purchasing activity has declined, building relationships and uncovering opportunities to earn more of their business.

You’ll receive training and coaching from experienced industry professionals, work directly with customers, and have the opportunity to make a measurable impact on our business while developing your sales career.

Location: Remote; hiring multiple candidates to support our Landover, MD; Annapolis, MD; Washington, DC; Richmond, VA; and Chesapeake, VA locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prospect for new business:
  • Make regular cold calls and visit prospective customers to introduce Maurice’s products, services, and capabilities.
• Develop customer relationships:
  • Meet with electrical contractors and other customers to understand their needs, upcoming projects, and purchasing priorities.
• Manage unassigned accounts:
  • Serve as a consistent point of contact, provide responsive support, and develop opportunities to grow sales.
• Reengage declining accounts:
  • Reach out to customers whose business has slowed, understand why, and build a plan to earn back their purchases.
• Sell our capabilities:
  • Connect customers with material supply, jobsite support, vendor managed inventory, and project material storage solutions.
• Coordinate with branch teams:
  • Work with branch managers, inside sales, and outside sales to support quotes, follow up on opportunities, and deliver on customer commitments.
• Stay accountable:
  • Track customer activity, maintain clear next steps, and work toward established prospecting, sales, and gross profit goals.

Qualifications

• Sales, electrical distribution, or contractor experience is preferred, but motivated candidates with transferable experience are encouraged to apply.
• Confidence initiating conversations by phone and in person.
• A willingness to make cold calls consistently and turn introductions into relationships.
• Strong listening, communication, and follow-up skills.
• Initiative, persistence, and the ability to organize your daily sales activity.
• A customer service mindset and ownership of your accounts.
• A willingness to learn, accept coaching, and develop product knowledge.
