Role Description

The Public Sector Account Specialist is a new role designed to support our public sector organization by owning a portfolio of small public sector accounts. This role reduces reactive workload for our core PSAM team while creating a structured development path for potential talent interested in becoming an account executive.

The Account Specialist will act as a hybrid - primarily reactive account coverage, combined with targeted proactive opportunities in all parts of the business including professional services. This role will operate independently and require someone with a passion and curiosity for sales. Compensation includes a base plus structured bonus rather than commissions.

The Account Specialist will work independently in their vertical while managing contracts and procurement vehicles. Legendary customer service is key as these customers require the highest level of service, knowledge, and skills. This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day tasks associated with supporting the client through their entire sales cycle, while also maintaining strong relationships and outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Account Management
  • Manage day-to-day inbound requests across a large portfolio of small public sector accounts.
  • Provide timely quotes, fulfill transactional needs, and ensure consistent customer experience across their district.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline hygiene and forecasting.
  • Partner with our internal teams to improve workflows.
  • Learn and manage complex contracts.
  • Maintain high responsiveness and accuracy on all inbound customer requests.
  • Attend all required trainings and complete call to actions.
• Proactive Sales
  • Identify, qualify, and progress proactive opportunities, including services.
  • Participate in proactive outreach programs to grow the business.
  • Promote Softchoice offers, services, and value proposition to win deals.
  • Leverage internal systems and GTM strategies to create repeatable sales campaigns.
  • Engage Presales and services teams as needed to support customer requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations that are tailored to the customers’ needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years sales experience
• Minimum of 3+ years customer service
• A high level of commitment to exceptional customer service and relationship building
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Strong learning agility, and proven ability to pick up new skills quickly
• The ability to work both individually and in a team environment
• The ability to work in a very fast-paced sales environment
• Proficiency in MS Office tools - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred

Compensation

• The current base pay for this position is $67,000.
