[Hiring] National Sales Manager @Grecian Delight | Kronos

Role Description

We are seeking a National Sales Manager – Grocery for a remote, travel-heavy role reporting to the Vice President of Retail Sales. As our National Sales Manager – Grocery, you will lead the profitable growth of our business across national and regional supermarket and grocery accounts. You will manage retailer, broker, and distributor relationships and own annual net sales, volume, and distribution targets within approved trade spend. You will also bring working knowledge of retail foodservice and be able to define and present prepared foods programs to retail customers.

• Own customer and broker financial and trade marketing plans, including net sales, volume (pounds), and trade spend, and evaluate trade programs against ROI.
• Set pricing, promotional funding, and terms with Finance and the VP of Retail Sales, and negotiate with retailers and distributors within company guidelines.
• Build annual customer and joint business plans with dollar and pound targets, distribution objectives, and new item goals.
• Secure item authorizations, shelf placement, planogram resets, and ad slots with supermarket buyers, and track distribution (ACV), velocity, and share using scan data.
• Set goals for brokers, hold them accountable against budget and forecast, and track broker commitments, accruals, deductions, and claims with Finance.
• Own the sales forecast, track its accuracy, and partner with Supply Chain and Operations to protect availability for promotions and launches.
• Develop presentations and business reviews using syndicated scan data (e.g., Circana, SPINS) and retailer data, and lead customer meetings, category reviews, and trade shows.
• Define, develop, and present prepared foods programs to retail customers, including concept, assortment, format (such as hot or cold deli and grab-and-go), pricing, and rollout.
• Plan co-marketing programs (coupons, retail media, merchandising, sampling) and drive new customer and business development.
• Travel up to 70% for customer meetings, broker reviews, and trade shows, and report people safety, food safety, and quality observations for immediate action.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 7+ years of progressive sales experience in food and beverage, CPG, foodservice, retail, or a related industry.
• Working knowledge of retail foodservice and prepared foods programs, including the ability to define and present a program.
• Proven success managing national or strategic accounts and working with brokers and distributors, including negotiation and delivering sales and profit goals.
• Strong grasp of pricing, trade investment, forecasting, and margin management; proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to travel up to 70% and to work independently from a remote home office.
• Preferred: supermarket and grocery account experience; working knowledge of scan data, trade promotion management, and Salesforce.
