Role Description

We are seeking experienced Internal Sales Representatives for opportunities within the welding industry in Johannesburg, Rustenburg and East London. The ideal candidates will have at least five years of relevant internal sales experience, strong communication skills and a proactive approach to generating business and delivering excellent customer service.

The successful candidates will manage customer enquiries, prepare quotations, process orders and provide support to the external sales team. The role combines internal sales, telesales, counter service and administration, with responsibility for assisting with stock purchasing, customer accounts and daily cash procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Handle telephone enquiries and orders, providing efficient customer support.
• Assist customers at the sales counter with product enquiries, purchases and related queries.
• Prepare quotations for products, consumables and spare parts.
• Follow up with existing customers every two weeks and approach prospective customers through telesales.
• Identify and pursue sales opportunities, promote company products and close deals.
• Support external sales representatives with quotations, pricing and customer credit information.
• Assist sales representatives with test certificates.
• Process customer payments, invoices and credit notes using Kerridge/SAP.
• Confirm payments and assist the debtors team with cash accounts, debtor accounts and customer queries.
• Handle cash sales, prepare daily cash sales breakdowns and complete till cash-ups.
• Purchase stock products and consumables, process purchase orders and arrange interbranch transfers.
• Issue and reconcile petty cash and complete daily banking.
• Maintain accurate records and perform general administrative duties.
• Carry out additional related duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Matric is essential.
• A relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous.

• A minimum of five years of relevant internal sales experience.
• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong telesales, coordination and administrative skills.
• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to close sales.
• Sound business acumen and a proactive approach to generating new business.
• Target driven, dynamic and motivated by sales success.
• Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Able to work independently, accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Friendly and professional, with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Trustworthy, with sound judgement and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
