Role Description
We are seeking an Educational Sales Consultant in Texas.
Position Purpose:

Develop and implement strategic plans focusing on identifying opportunities.

Respond to customer issues and needs.

Prospect and build strong relationships.

Engage in pre-working activities, working pilots, and exhibits/conferences.

Follow up on leads.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Achieve or surpass sales goals for territory within expense guidelines.

Develop strategic plans to identify opportunities for supplemental, core, and PD sales.

Manage the territory using CRM to enter and track:

Opportunities β both supplemental and core

Contacts
-
Cuts, wins, and losses
-
Generate quotes and provide support for proposals, including reviewing and evaluating RFPs.

Demonstrate knowledge of products (both print and digital) and present them in various settings.
-
Utilize competitive knowledge to position and present products effectively.
-
Utilize available resources such as consultants, promotions, samples, authors, and your manager.
-
Provide sales, sampling, and inventory forecasts as requested by management.
-
Embrace change and analyze trends impacting current and future business.
-
Seek out and leverage technology trends and communicate them to management, editorial, and marketing.
-
Demonstrate effective questioning strategies and listening skills to identify customer needs.
-
Prospect and meet with new and existing TX school customers.
-
Utilize negotiation skills and closing techniques to win business.
-
Help plan and coordinate product training with customers and PD staff for successful implementation of materials.

Plan and implement Invitationals/Presentations as needed.

Attend selected local, national, and regional exhibits as requested.

Follow up on leads from online ads, ads, and exhibits/conferences.

Review and provide feedback on new marketing materials.
-
Participate in weekly sales team conference calls.

Perform general administrative activities.

Other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
-
Bachelorβs degree in Education, English, or related field.
-
Three to five years of sales experience in a high-volume, fast-paced company.

A quick learner, able to multi-task.

Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Strong skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Excellent verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
-
Professional orientation and demeanor.
-
Proven ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work calmly under pressure with flexibility.
-
Educational publishing experience is a plus, but not required.
