Role Description

We seek an experienced sales contributor to grow our presence within the small to mid-sized pharma segment. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

• Drive growth with assigned strategic and key pharmaceutical clients, focusing on pharma organizations located in mid-market.
• Responsible for client relationship management and sales, partnering with consulting and the business units to drive new growth and successful delivery execution.
• Selling focus is Real World Data (RWD) licensing, HEOR/RWE, Epidemiology analytics, and Clinical Trial Research solutions.
• Develop deep relationships with pharmaceutical leaders, providing strategic thought leadership on the client's industry and market.
• Understand the client’s unique business environment and challenges.
• Utilize consulting selling and collaboration skills to architect Optum Life Sciences solutions.
• Ensure Optum understands the client's strategic objectives and the initiatives that support the business strategy.
• Partner with client delivery teams to ensure client expectations of service and execution are clearly understood, communicated, and met.
• This role is a key contributor to the annual client planning process and works with the team to execute, update, and refresh the plan throughout the year.
• Develop and monitor client financial performance and profitability.
• Use enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline workflows, automate tasks, and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain disciplined opportunity, pipeline, and account planning with clear next actions and risk visibility.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of strategic business development or client management experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry.
• 2+ years of experience in deep driving, productive relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Experience selling in Mid, and/or Emerging Pharmaceutical Markets.
• Experience in negotiating B2B sales, influencing executive-level stakeholders.
• Proven ability to analyze complex market opportunities and develop creative solutions to a wide variety of unique market problems.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively message, position, and influence clients.
• Demonstrated ability to work across internal operating environments with a high level of collaboration.
• Proven advanced consultative selling skills with the ability to successfully construct solutions.
• Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience selling real-world clinical and claims data and selling solutions supported by real-world evidence generation.
• Familiarity with pharma Medical Affairs, Clinical, HEOR, RWD, and related functions.
• Experience selling solutions for clinical trials teams.
• Experience improving processes or products through automation, analytics, or AI-enabled ways of working.
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and operate effectively in a changing, matrixed environment.

• Salary range: $60,000 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment.
