Role Description

This role involves building and shaping our value selling motion as a Value Engineer at Retool.

Collaborate with leadership to design and implement the Value Engineering function.
Support sales teams by delivering value-driven conversations and materials.
Partner with prospects and customers to create tailored business cases, financial models, and ROI assessments.
Work with product, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure alignment between offerings and delivered value.
Present and communicate value propositions and business cases to customer executives.
Help enable sales teams by developing and delivering training materials focused on value-based selling.
Contribute to defining key performance metrics and monitoring the success of Value Engineering initiatives.
Assist in the development and refinement of tools and templates for business case creation and customer presentations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field
5+ years of progressive experience in value engineering
Experience in creating a Value Engineering function from the ground up
Extensive experience working with Fortune 500 customers in a value engineering capacity
Strong verbal and written communication of qualitative and quantitative business cases
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong focus on results
