About The Role

The ideal Inbound Sales Consultant will have 1+ year(s) experience in insurance sales, service, or sales support roles. This role will be integral in supporting Players Health’s small business team. The Inbound Sales Consultant will be handling a high volume of inbound leads from sports organizations throughout the United States. This role will be expected to offer insurance advice, quickly build trust, and develop creative solutions for prospective customers. This role will report to the VP of Sales & Service-Small Business and is available to work remotely or hybrid near one of our regional employee hubs (Minneapolis, MN or Dallas, TX), unless approved otherwise. Players Health is a remote-first distributed workforce. Travel may be required for team collaboration, training, and development. The Inbound Sales Consultant role has a compensation range of $45,00 - $65,000 depending on skills and experience, plus sales incentive bonus.

Responsibilities (are inclusive of but not limited to):

  •  Customer Consultation: Support sports organizations, guiding them through the online insurance buying process and helping them choose the right lines of coverage for their organizations. Collect all relevant information and advise clients on the policies that best fit their unique needs.
  • Submission Management: Prepare and submit complete and accurate insurance applications to carriers, ensuring all documentation meets the necessary requirements for coverage.
  • Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring clients are fully supported, informed, and satisfied throughout the process.
  • Pipeline Management: Keep CRM up to date with top opportunities outstanding that require follow up
  • Renewal Management: Manage renewal business in CRM and work closely with Marketing team to ensure existing customers feel confident in renewing their business with Players Health year over year.  
  • Expansion: Collaborate with Marketing to help expand customer product mix by targeting accounts with coverage gaps.  
  • Ongoing Education: Maintain your insurance licensure by completing required continuing education credits and staying up to date with industry trends, insurance regulations, and sports-specific coverage requirements.
  • Licensing Requirement: Obtain the state-required insurance license within 90 days of employment to maintain active status and be fully equipped to support clients.
  • Product Collaboration: Work closely with the product team to provide valuable insights and feedback on the user experience and help iterate on our online offerings to ensure they meet the evolving needs of sports organizations.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Occasional travel for team engagement, collaboration, or events

Minimum Skills & Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in insurance sales, service, or sales support roles, preferably in sports insurance or commercial insurance.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain insurance products and coverage options to clients with varying levels of knowledge.
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with a proven ability to be creative and resourceful in finding solutions that meet the client's needs while keeping coverage comprehensive and cost-effective.
  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding customer service and build lasting, trusting relationships, ideally with sports organizations.
  • Comfortable using online tools and platforms for submitting insurance applications and providing guidance through a digital interface.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a state-required insurance license within 90 days of employment; continuing education is required to stay current.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal teams, especially product and operations, to deliver a seamless customer experience and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Strong emotional intelligence skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Although not required, a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment
  • Demonstrated experience and/or ability to influence without authority
  • Demonstrated ability to build connections and rapport cross-departmentally
  • Participant/involvement in or strong understanding of the youth/amateur sports landscape.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel occasionally for team events, collaboration, engagement, conferences, or customer visits
  •  Must have a dedicated safe and secure remote work environment
  •  Must have the ability to work and be productive in a remote work environment
  • Exceptionally self-motivated and ability to work autonomously
  •  Proactive communicator in all communication methods, including email (Outlook), verbal (in-person & phone), instant messaging (Slack & Teams)
  • Willingness and ability to attend virtual meetings with camera on – we respect that there are times when employees may need to turn their camera off. By regularly using cameras, we form connections and get to know each other, as well as promoting positive and respectful interactions amongst colleagues.
  • Located in or willingness to work on Central or Eastern Time Zone
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Work location must be in the United States
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
