Role Description
As a
Research Lead, Web & eCommerce
, you will shape and scale the research strategy that informs the evolution of McGraw Hillβs web, eCommerce, and digital customer experiences. This role combines hands-on execution of qualitative and quantitative research with strategic leadership that drives customer-centered decision-making across various teams.

Define and execute a scalable mixed-methods research strategy that supports customer experience discovery, validation, optimization, innovation, and accessibility.

Proactively identify, prioritize, and advocate for research opportunities that influence product strategy and customer experience improvements.

Lead the end-to-end research lifecycle, including intake, planning, methodology selection, participant recruitment, moderation, analysis, synthesis, reporting, and stakeholder communication.

Design, plan, and execute qualitative and quantitative research initiatives using various methodologies.

Establish and maintain personas, journey maps, and other foundational customer experience artifacts.

Partner with cross-functional teams to align priorities and ensure research findings inform decision-making.

Translate research findings into clear narratives and actionable recommendations.

Establish and evolve research operations, governance, prioritization frameworks, and research standards.

Mentor researchers and cross-functional partners while advancing research maturity and best practices.
Qualifications

Master's degree in HCI, Psychology, Human Factors, Cognitive Science, Design, or a related field.

7+ years of UX Research experience leading end-to-end qualitative and quantitative research initiatives.

Knowledge of the Kβ12, Higher Education, or educational technology ecosystem.

Proficiency in creating recruitment screeners, discussion guides, and research reports.

Proven ability to influence product strategy by translating customer insights into actionable recommendations.

Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
Requirements

Experience with research tools like Qualtrics, User Testing, Full Story, or comparable platforms.

Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Benefits

Annual pay range: $75,600 - $110,000, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

Annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package.
