[Hiring] Quality Inspector @IS International Services

Role Description

The Quality Inspector (or QA/QC Technician) ensures that energy storage products, components, and on-site installations adhere to strict quality standards and specifications. They perform inspections, manage non-conforming materials, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and maintain detailed documentation for battery energy storage systems (BESS). This is a traveling position supporting projects in California, Wisconsin, Ohio, and more. Candidates can expect to be away from home 4 - 6 weeks at a time.

• Site and Production Inspection: Conduct Inspections and Test Plans (ITP) for equipment installation, commissioning, and manufacturing milestones.
• Non-Conformance Management: Identify, flag, and document defective materials or workmanship, and track corrective actions (NCRs) to completion.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare, oversee, and maintain turnover documentation, quality audits, and weekly/monthly project quality reports.
• Supplier and Site Collaboration: Partner with Project Managers and subcontractors to ensure adherence to quality standards and safety protocols.
• Root Cause Analysis: Perform RCA on quality issues to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field preferred.
• Experience: Proven experience in QA/QC, ideally within energy storage, manufacturing, or construction environments.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with quality control methodologies (e.g., Lean, 5S) and proficiency with ERP and Quality Management databases.
• Attributes: Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively.
