Role Description

Responsible for leading and managing the Delivery & Support team for the bank's most critical application - Core Banking.

• Developing and executing the support strategy of technology by achieving objectives and goals.
• Guiding and mentoring the team and delivering high-quality support services.
• Delivering information technology solutions to meet business and functional requirements.
• Managing the SDLC of Change Management in Core Banking from business requirements to technical specifications, delivery, and post-implementation maintenance activities.
• Accountable for supporting and managing the Core Banking system, which can impact the bank with financial losses, reputational issues, regulator warnings/penalties, and operational losses.
• Leading the Core Production Support function within SLA, schedule, budget, and scope parameters, including testing and overseeing quality and compliance controls throughout the project life cycle.
• Managing a diverse team of professionals, including offshore and outsourced personnel, responsible for application support across the bank.
• Leading the application and integration team.
• Overseeing policy development, vendor selection, use case evaluation, and project approvals as an essential member of the governance committee.
• Cultivating a culture of innovation to ensure the successful implementation and support of core banking technologies.
• Effectively managing the "Run the Bank" team with responsibilities encompassing stability, monitoring and control, capacity management, and incident management of the bank's most critical applications.
• Ensuring the achievement of agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Reviewing and evaluating business requirements against existing and proposed systems, recommending an appropriate approach for providing solutions.
• Analyzing the impact of functional requirement changes on existing systems.
• Directing and assisting the development team in verifying the resolution of issues/functions developed by the team.
• Actively participating in issue resolution activities by guiding and assisting the development team and building a strong functional relationship with them.
• Understanding business requirements from the bank and effectively converting them into Requirement Specifications and Functional Specifications.
• Managing and maintaining documentation describing custom configuration and parameterization of third-party provided solutions.
• Providing technical guidance, information, and instruction to other IT staff requiring broader subject knowledge.
• Program managing the implementation and modernization of large-scale core digital banking platforms.
• Ensuring the successful implementation of the PROGRAM DELIVERY’s strategy, responsibilities, services, and deliverables.
• Monitoring program reporting and assisting the team in reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
• Overseeing project costs and ensuring finances are well managed.
• Providing and maintaining a capacity planning and resource tracking service across the program.
• Tracking financial reporting while ensuring that the program and projects adhere to the agreed budget.
• Ensuring cross-program dependencies are managed and the dependency log is accurately maintained.
• Fostering cohesion within the team and motivating members to produce quality work.
• Providing project planning, milestone management, scope management, and resource forecasting.
• Preparing regular status reports for engagement leadership.
• Ensuring awareness of and adherence to compliance/risk implications.
• Seeking regular updates from vendors, consultants, and the bank team on delivery progress.
• Escalating slippages to stakeholders as necessary.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in cross-border team management.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, control, and close projects while managing multiple components with minimal supervision.
• Extensive experience managing large-scale core banking transformations.
• Expertise in overseeing the complete project lifecycle with teams ranging from 25 to 50 members.
• Proficient in project management methodologies such as AGILE or PRINCE2 for medium to large-sized projects.
• Strong skills in developing and maintaining project and program plans, including risk management, action tracking, issue resolution, and dependency mapping.
• Highly efficient in resource planning and task assignment.
• Knowledgeable in benefits realization, dependency mapping, and resource management.
