[Hiring] Staff Technical Program Manager, Infrastructure Security @Airbnb

Role Description

Airbnb's mission is to create a world where people can Belong Anywhere. We are seeking a technical, hands-on, mission-driven Staff Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead Infrastructure Security initiatives, working with security and infrastructure engineers to keep the Airbnb platform secure, resilient, and transparent. You will partner closely with senior ICs and senior leaders across Airbnb on processes, strategy, and execution.

We are looking for someone who pairs program leadership with hands-on technical depth in security and infrastructure, understands the problem space, drives requirements, and tackles strategic challenges that align with Airbnb's larger goals.

A Typical Day

• Shape and influence the technical direction of infrastructure security projects.
• Rapidly prototype and validate project ideas through iterative development cycles.
• Balance broad, outcome-driven thinking with attention to critical details.
• Define and secure stakeholder alignment on clear, measurable success criteria for security initiatives.
• Regularly assess risks and opportunities, and devise proactive mitigation strategies.
• Maintain transparent and effective communication channels with stakeholders.
• Present outcomes and updates to senior leadership, articulating trade-offs, risks, and emerging opportunities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of work experience, with at least 8 years as a TPM or relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work through ambiguity to detailed solutions.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and proven ability to adapt well and work with teams having different operating cadences.
• Sound business judgment, a proven ability to influence others, strong analytical skills, and a track record of taking ownership.
• Hands-on technical experience with infrastructure security, such as:
  • Identity and access management
  • Network security
  • Encryption and key management
  • Secure configuration
  • Container and Kubernetes security
  • Data protection in cloud environments or data platforms
• Familiar with incremental delivery and deployment.
• Ability to ramp up quickly and learn new technologies with minimal lag time.
• Excellent written and oral business communication and people skills.

Location

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. While the position is Remote Eligible, you must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.

How We'll Take Care of You

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

• Pay Range: $200,000 — $250,000 USD
