Role Description

The Solutions Architect will play a dual role supporting both the technical design and the end-to-end delivery of Milvian's Aqueduct smart building projects in India. This position combines project management responsibilities with hands-on solution architecture, field support, and technical coordination. The role will help move projects from kickoff through site survey, solution design, procurement, installation, commissioning, go-live, and customer handoff while ensuring that each deployment is technically sound, properly documented, and executed on schedule.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in project management, solutions architecture, technical engineering, systems integration, building systems, IoT, or a related technical deployment environment.
• Experience managing technical installation or deployment projects involving hardware, software, and field teams.
• Strong understanding of smart building technologies, building automation, controls, IoT, utility monitoring, or similar infrastructure systems.
• Ability to manage project schedules, multiple priorities, risks, stakeholders, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, site information, equipment specifications, and installation requirements and translate them into clear solution documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly in field deployment environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, technicians, engineers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Strong documentation, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong ownership of assigned projects.

Requirements

• Manage assigned Aqueduct projects from kickoff through installation, commissioning, go-live, and handoff.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, action items, deliverables, and status updates.
• Coordinate site surveys, procurement, logistics, installation scheduling, and field execution across multiple concurrent projects.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders for assigned projects, ensuring clear communication and timely follow-up.
• Track project scope, open items, risks, dependencies, and blockers and proactively drive issues to resolution.
• Lead or participate in regular project meetings and provide clear updates on progress, upcoming activities, risks, and required decisions.
• Coordinate closely with Project Management, Supply Chain, IoT, Building Controls, Engineering, Software, and Customer Success teams to keep projects moving.
• Ensure project documentation, work orders, site information, and implementation records are complete, current, and accessible.
• Identify schedule, technical, or execution risks early and develop mitigation plans before they impact project timelines or customer satisfaction.
• Participate in and support site surveys to assess building systems, utility infrastructure, installation requirements, connectivity, power availability, and field conditions.
• Review site survey information for completeness and technical accuracy and identify gaps that must be resolved before solution design or installation.
• Translate customer requirements and survey findings into clear, practical solution designs and deployment requirements.
• Create and maintain technical solution documentation, including scopes of work, system architecture, equipment requirements, installation instructions, diagrams, technical notes, and field documentation.
• Define hardware and equipment requirements for projects, including meters, sensors, gateways, controls interfaces, accessories, and installation materials.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to internal field technicians, external installers, electricians, controls technicians, and other project resources before and during installation.
• Support field teams in resolving unexpected site conditions, installation questions, hardware issues, connectivity problems, and integration challenges.
• Support commissioning and validation activities to confirm devices are installed correctly, communicating, and delivering expected data to the Aqueduct platform.
• Assist with troubleshooting hardware, sensor, meter, controls, networking, and integration issues and coordinate escalation to Engineering or vendors when required.
• Participate in customer and internal technical discussions to explain solution requirements, installation approaches, constraints, and recommended options.
• Support final project handoff by ensuring the installed solution is properly documented and that outstanding technical issues are resolved.
