Role Description

Peregrine Advisors is seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Project Manager. In this role, you will keep the development team building a federal agency's filer application system on schedule, on scope, and ahead of its risks. Your first project will likely involve:

• Owning the schedule: building and maintaining the integrated plan, tracking milestones and dependencies, and identifying slippage early.
• Running Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Managing risks and issues: keeping the risk register current, driving each issue to an owner and a date, and escalating unresolved issues.
• Reporting status that leadership can act on: providing weekly reports, sprint metrics, and briefings that state progress, risks, and decisions needed.
• Tracking outcomes, not only activity: measuring whether each release improves the agency's processing of filer applications.

This is a remote position. The initial engagement requires United States citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust determination.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of project management experience on software development projects.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience running Agile delivery: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Experience building and maintaining project schedules, including milestones, dependencies, and the critical path.
• Risk and issue management experience, including maintaining a risk register and driving mitigation.
• Status reporting to client and internal leadership, in writing and in briefings.
• Familiarity with Agile tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps, and scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project or Smartsheet.
• Experience working with developers, testers, and product owners to plan releases and manage scope.
• Technical fluency in software and cloud delivery to judge estimates, dependencies, and release risk with engineers.
• Proficiency in writing, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Requirements

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred).
• Agile certification, such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) (preferred).
• Experience managing delivery of cloud applications on AWS (preferred).
• Experience managing delivery of document-processing or case-management systems (preferred).
• Federal information technology experience, including contract deliverables and reporting (preferred).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted project management tooling (preferred).
