Role Description

emergiTEL is hiring a Project Manager for our client in the Financial Services industry.

Contract Duration: 12 Months with possible extension.

Location: Calgary, AB (100% Remote)

Core Responsibilities

• Partner with Technology Enablement, Business, and third-party stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with the Program Manager to establish program standards with a focus on quality management and alignment to broader portfolio goals.
• Develop and execute detailed project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and budget oversight.
• Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Deliver data-driven reporting on achievements, risks, issues, milestones, and financial status.
• Lead cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across business and technology groups.
• Produce, maintain, and manage high-quality project artifacts to ensure continuity, transparency, and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

• PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent professional certification.
• 6+ years of experience leading IT projects with a focus on business process improvement and organizational change management.
• 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional teams on large-scale, high-visibility initiatives.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience managing both internal development teams and third-party vendors.
• Proficiency in Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid project delivery methodologies.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to conduct rapid project discovery and identify hidden risks early in an engagement.
• Demonstrated objectivity and willingness to provide candid project assessments.
• Strong focus on measurable outcomes and milestone-based delivery.
• Expertise in managing scope creep while maintaining stakeholder confidence.
• Tool-agnostic mindset with the ability to adapt to various project management platforms.
• High emotional intelligence with the ability to quickly build relationships and manage diverse stakeholder groups.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills that ensure seamless project continuity.
