[Hiring] Mobile Calibration Project Manager @Transcat, Inc.

Role Description

As an integral member of the Client-Based Laboratory (CBL) infrastructure, the CBL Project Manager manages the building of the CBL business anywhere they are needed. The CBL Project Manager will travel to new CBL sites to manage and support the management of the CBLs through the Transition and Steady-State phases.

• Transition Phase (usually 90-120 days)
  • Serve as a member of the QuickStart Team to begin work for the new CBL client.
  • Triage incoming work to determine calibration needs.
  • Perform calibrations directly or review vendor calibration certs.
  • Train and supervise permanent calibration technicians as they are onboarded.
  • Calibration tasks start at 100% of time and reduce to less than 10% over the Phase.
• Steady-State Phase
  • Perform data reviews of technicians’ work across multiple CBLs.
  • Assist Calibration Operations Managers with supervisory functions.
  • Fill in for calibration work during technician turnover.

• Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan and control workflow to meet customer demands.
  • Provide ongoing technical assistance and direction to staff.
  • Establish and maintain positive customer and employee relations.
  • Assist in managing customer and/or employee issues.
  • Triage incoming equipment and assign work to technicians.
  • Track availability and update records of lab assets.
  • Oversee requests for data sheets for units without existing data sheets.
  • Assist CBL Operations Manager with training/onboarding of permanent technicians.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) and databases.
  • Apply knowledge of various measurement instruments.
  • Adapt to learn new instruments and calibration techniques.
  • Perform calibration of various electronic and mechanical instruments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

• Understanding of FDA regulations.

• Must be vaccinated for COVID-19 for entry into client facilities.

Requirements

• Experience in a GxP environment (preferred).
• Ability to read and work from blueprints and schematic diagrams (preferred).
• Understanding of measurement uncertainty concepts (preferred).
• Ability to obtain government security clearance (preferred).
• Four-year STEM or management degree or minimum ten years’ experience in PMEL/TMDE/instrumentation and controls.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

• Pay range is $100,000 - $135,000.
