3d ago - Ground Control is hiring a remote Framework Lead. πŸ’Έ Salary: competitive, dependent on experience πŸ“Location: Northern Europe

Role Description

Ground Control is looking for an experienced Framework Lead to oversee a brand new contract we have acquired across the Manchester and Midlands to East Anglia areas. This is an opportunity to lead a multi-regional programme that makes a meaningful difference, helping schools become more resilient to flooding and protecting the environments where children learn and communities come together. If you're motivated by taking ownership, leading complex programmes and seeing the lasting impact of your work, this is an opportunity to combine strategic leadership with projects that have a genuine purpose.

Why this role?

  • Make a lasting difference to schools and communities: You'll play a leading role in delivering flood resilience improvements that help protect school buildings, pupils and staff.
  • Take ownership of a major framework: You'll have responsibility for delivery across the Midlands & East Anglia, influencing how projects are planned, managed and delivered across multiple regions.
  • Lead and influence regional teams: You'll work with Construction Managers, Site Managers, surveyors and operational teams across different regions.
  • Shape commercial and operational success: You'll take responsibility for framework performance, budgets and commercial outcomes while identifying opportunities for improvement and future growth.
  • Develop your leadership and framework expertise: You'll combine strategic oversight with hands-on regional project delivery, gaining exposure to major public-sector client relationships.

What you'll do:

  • Lead framework and regional project delivery, overseeing programmes across multiple regions.
  • Coordinate and support regional teams, working with Construction Managers, Site Managers, surveyors and subcontractors.
  • Manage client relationships and framework performance, acting as the primary framework contact.
  • Take commercial ownership, managing framework and regional P&L, budgets, forecasting, CVRs, pricing and contract performance.
  • Maintain high standards of safety and compliance, overseeing RAMS, site inspections, safeguarding requirements and health and safety procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement, standardising processes, strengthening supply chain relationships, monitoring performance and sharing lessons learned.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years' construction industry experience, including senior construction management and multi-site programme delivery.
  • At least 3 years' experience in construction or civil engineering, with knowledge of external works, drainage or flood resilience.
  • Proven experience managing public-sector or framework clients, including senior stakeholder relationships, KPIs, SLAs and contract performance.
  • Strong project management experience, including delivering works as Principal Contractor through to practical completion.
  • Strong commercial and financial management skills, including framework contracts, schedules of rates, CVRs, forecasting and JCT/NEC contracts.
  • Confident leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence multidisciplinary teams without direct line management responsibility.
  • Strong organisational and reporting skills, including Microsoft Office and construction management systems.

Requirements

  • Experience delivering public-sector frameworks, including call-off processes, governance and social value reporting.
  • Knowledge of Property Flood Resilience measures and CIRIA guidance (C790).
  • Experience delivering works within live school environments, including safeguarding requirements.
  • Experience supporting framework extensions, re-tenders or new business opportunities.
  • Formal leadership or management qualifications, such as ILM Level 3/5.

Benefits

  • Performance linked bonus - Bonus opportunities aligned to your level and contribution.
  • Life assurance - providing financial protection and peace of mind for you and your loved ones.
  • Holiday buy scheme - giving you the flexibility to purchase up to 5 additional days of annual leave.
  • Recognition schemes - celebrating your contribution and rewarding great work.
  • Pension scheme - helping you save and plan for your future.
  • 24/7 GP service - fast, convenient access to medical advice and support when you need it.
  • Subsidised gym membership - helping you prioritise your health and wellbeing.
