Role Description
This role involves helping to build a different type of engineering team and culture at Ashby.
- Encourage engineers to take total ownership of problems and drive them to completion.
- Focus on building team skills and an empowering environment.
- Manage a growing team of engineers in Europe.
- Provide feedback on product and technical specs.
- Grow engineers to deliver large, loosely defined projects with minimal intervention.
- Debug customer issues and improve developer experience.
- Work on projects that impact the business while keeping up-to-date with the codebase.
Qualifications
- Passionate about both management and technical work.
- Experience in driving people to be their best and giving difficult feedback.
- Excellent and empathetic communicator.
- Deep understanding of what exceptional engineers look like.
- Ability to think about product, business, and design without needing to call the shots.
- Thrives in high-trust, high-autonomy environments.
Requirements
- Enjoy coding and staying up-to-date on technology.
- Not in management as the only growth path available.
- Empower the team to make product decisions.
- Open to diverse teams and perspectives.
