Role Description
As an Engineering Manager, GitLab Dedicated, your primary focus lies on hiring and building a world-class team and putting them in the optimal position to succeed. You’ll do this by maintaining an environment where team members can thrive and the team produces results.
- Partner with a Product Manager to connect business goals and customer needs with sound engineering to create a scalable product.
- Participate in the Dedicated incident escalation rotation to enable engineers to meet GitLab Dedicated availability goals and SLAs.
- Lead a new Environment Automation Team within the Dedicated Group, partnering with the team's Product Manager and providing direct management and support to the engineering team.
- Manage and improve the availability, security and scalability of GitLab Dedicated.
- Maintain an environment where Team Members can thrive and the team produces results.
- Hire and grow an incredible team that lives our values.
- Manage Agile projects.
- Improve the quality, security and performance of the product.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience leading single or multi-tenant SaaS systems in an Infrastructure, SRE, or similar team.
- Ability to deep dive into technical issues and translate this to understandable language for the business.
- Experience hiring, coaching, growing, and retaining Engineering talent.
- Deep technical understanding of running SaaS applications and infrastructure at scale.
- Experience leading a team on a large-scale consumer platform.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
