[Hiring] ATC Deployment Enablement Manager @Astreya

3d ago - Astreya is hiring a remote ATC Deployment Enablement Manager. πŸ’Έ Salary: usd 132,240 - 208,800 per year πŸ“Location: USA

Role Description

The Datacenter Network Engineering (DNE) Air Traffic Control (ATC) Deployment Enablement Manager is the senior program leader accountable for converting approved DNE network designs and portfolio priorities into predictable execution across a data center fleet. The role owns end-to-end delivery for front-end fabric infrastructure and assigned DNE programs, including:

  • New builds
  • Technology modifications
  • Retrofits
  • Capacity expansions
  • Special projects

Accountability begins when scope is accepted for execution and continues through planning, material readiness, site execution, validation, operational handoff, and closeout. This is a program leadership role first. The successful candidate will have enough technical fluency to understand data center fabric dependencies, challenge incomplete deployment packages, and lead informed conversations with engineers. The role does not configure network equipment or replace DNE's design authority. Its impact comes from:

  • Creating clarity
  • Sequencing complex work
  • Aligning teams without direct authority
  • Delivering committed outcomes at fleet scale

DNE deployments span engineering, hardware supply, construction, logistics, site readiness, field execution, provisioning, and operations. Without a single execution owner, design changes, material constraints, and site dependencies can surface late and create avoidable schedule risk. The DNE ATC provides one accountable program lead who connects these systems and ensures that approved network capacity is delivered safely, consistently, and on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Strategy and Roadmap Ownership:
    • Build, own, and drive DNE's half-over-half execution roadmap.
    • Translate approved Plan of Record and engineering priorities into an executable deployment portfolio.
    • Evaluate new demand against portfolio capacity, hardware availability, site readiness, and existing commitments.
    • Lead prioritization and tradeoff discussions.
    • Maintain a single portfolio view of planned, committed, active, at-risk, and completed work.
  • Intake and Deployment Readiness:
    • Own project intake and ensure each request has a clear business objective.
    • Validate that required execution artifacts are complete before commitment.
    • Confirm that space, power, cabling, facilities, logistics, and site-access requirements are identified.
    • Establish readiness gates and refuse false-start execution.
    • Document assumptions, exceptions, unresolved decisions, and the owner responsible for closing each gap.
  • End-to-End Deployment Delivery:
    • Own program execution from accepted intake through closeout.
    • Develop and maintain integrated schedules across various teams.
    • Lead kickoff calls, weekly execution reviews, and milestone checks.
    • Drive stage-gate completion and ensure downstream teams receive complete handoffs.
    • Verify that acceptance criteria and open defects are documented before closing a project.
  • Hardware Supply and Material Readiness:
    • Own portfolio-level visibility into DNE hardware demand and supply.
    • Partner with logistics and sourcing teams to validate BOMs and track material arrival.
    • Identify shortages and lead allocation tradeoffs across projects.
    • Track emergency material requests and improve BOM quality.
  • Risk, Dependency, and Change Management:
    • Maintain a program risk and dependency register.
    • Identify cross-domain dependencies.
    • Own the programmatic change-control process.
    • Ensure approved changes are propagated to schedules and material plans.
    • Escalate strategically when necessary.
  • Stakeholder Leadership and Executive Communication:
    • Serve as the single point of program accountability for assigned DNE deployment portfolios.
    • Build productive partnerships across various teams.
    • Drive decisions and accountability without direct authority.
    • Provide concise leadership updates.
    • Present delivery health and execution trends in forums.
  • Tooling, Data Quality, and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate execution data.
    • Use deployment dashboards to confirm dependencies.
    • Partner with engineering teams to understand workflow readiness.
    • Build automated status reporting and portfolio scorecards.
    • Define data owners and resolve conflicting dates.
  • Operational Excellence and Team Enablement:
    • Lead retrospectives for significant deployments.
    • Convert lessons learned into improved standards and templates.
    • Develop reusable playbooks for repeatable deployment types.
    • Mentor PM/PC partners and new team members.
    • Reduce duplicate meetings and increase visibility.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of technical program or portfolio management experience in network infrastructure, cloud infrastructure, data centers, telecommunications, or another large-scale physical infrastructure environment.
  • Demonstrated ownership of complex, multi-site deployment programs.
  • Experience building roadmaps, integrated schedules, and measurable delivery commitments.
  • Proven ability to prioritize concurrent programs.
  • Strong executive communication skills.

Requirements

  • Working understanding of data center network fabrics.
  • Understanding of the deployment lifecycle.
  • Ability to read and question deployment artifacts.
  • Experience operating in environments with evolving architectures.
  • Experience with hardware demand planning and supply-risk mitigation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering data center network fabric at hyperscale.
  • Familiarity with DNE planning and deployment tools.
  • Experience partnering with construction, facilities, and logistics.
  • Experience with AI-assisted workflow optimization.
  • PMP, PgMP, network, cloud, or data center certification.

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent program-management certification is preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be US-based.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% for site visits and deployment support.
  • Flexibility to support global deployments across time zones.
