Role Description
The Senior Product Owner - Financial Services is responsible for defining and managing the strategic direction of the product portfolio, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and communicate a clear product roadmap.
- Manage all Scrum team activities, foster cross-team collaboration, and serve as the central communication point.
- Define and maintain the product backlog, breaking down epics into actionable features and user stories.
- Prioritize tasks based on business and technical needs.
- Work closely with the pricing team to develop competitive pricing strategies.
- Create effective go-to-market plans and sales enablement tools with product marketing.
- Oversee the execution of the product development process and monitor performance against key KPIs.
- Support clients through direct engagement and represent the product at various speaking engagements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (Required) in a technical field or finance preferred.
- 10-15+ years of experience in supporting data teams.
- Proven track record of managing the end-to-end lifecycle of data-driven products from conception to launch and beyond.
- 5+ years creating and maintaining a product roadmap that aligns with business objectives.
- 3+ years working closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders.
- 5+ years in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools (JIRA, Confluence).
Requirements
- Ability to break down technical issues into easily digestible data points.
- Ability to manage and align expectations between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Advanced Certification in Product Management for Financial Services.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in advertising or big data preferred.
- Experience managing a Scrum team and backlogs for that team.
- Full understanding of Agile principles, with Agile certification.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate a team.
- Understanding of financial services industry.
