[Hiring] Regional Director of Operations @Landmark Funeral Group

Role Description

Landmark Funeral Group is seeking a Regional Director of Operations to lead the operational, financial, and leadership performance of approximately 10–15 funeral home locations within an assigned region. This role is responsible for translating company strategy into strong local execution—driving P&L performance, developing leaders, strengthening operations, and ensuring each location delivers exceptional service to families while preserving the local relationships and legacies that make our funeral homes unique.

• Need to be located in the East/Central Ohio or PA proximity.
• Travel approximately 75% throughout the assigned region, including regular visits to funeral home locations and occasional overnight travel, with flexibility based on business and operational needs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive operations leadership experience, including responsibility for multi-location operations and financial performance.
• Demonstrated P&L ownership with experience managing budgets, forecasts, revenue growth, labor, expenses, and profitability.
• Experience leading and developing managers and creating accountability across geographically dispersed locations.
• Strong financial and business acumen with the ability to interpret financial statements, operating metrics, trends, and variances and translate them into action.
• Demonstrated ability to improve operational performance through structured problem solving, performance management, standardization, and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, influencing, and change-management skills.
• Ability to balance strategic priorities with hands-on operational leadership and regular field presence.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and comfort using financial, operational, CRM, and business intelligence systems.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned region.
• Ability to travel approximately 75% throughout the assigned region, including regular visits to funeral home locations and occasional overnight travel, with flexibility based on business and operational needs.

Requirements

• Background in funeral service, death care, healthcare, hospitality, or another multi-site service business.
• Familiarity with private equity-backed, acquisitive, or high-growth multi-location organizations.
• Demonstrated success integrating acquisitions and standardizing operations across newly acquired locations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Finance, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Funeral Director license or direct funeral service background is a plus but not required, unless required by applicable state law or the responsibilities of the position.
