[Hiring] Operations Manager @Second Harvest

Role Description

Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager (Western Canada), the Operations Manager (British Columbia) serves as Second Harvest’s primary community representative and operational lead in British Columbia. This role is responsible for building, maintaining, and continuously improving on strategic relationships with non-profit partners and community stakeholders in British Columbia.

• Ensure surplus food reaches the communities that need it most.
• Coordinate food distribution strategies for donations across the supply chain.
• Identify and mobilize recipient organizations for food donations.
• Lead initiatives that strengthen food access in rural and remote communities.
• Manage strategic food purchases and develop sustainable food distribution solutions.

Your Impact

• Build, maintain and strengthen relationships with non-profit organizations, community groups, Indigenous organizations, municipalities, and other stakeholders.
• Lead the distribution of large-volume food donations across British Columbia.
• Collaborate with Food Recovery & Partnerships and Supply Chain & Logistics teams.
• Assess network capacity and identify opportunities to strengthen recipient readiness.
• Engage with diverse audiences to deliver presentations and participate in speaking engagements.
• Conduct regular field visits to partners throughout British Columbia.
• Identify opportunities to grow Second Harvest programs and collaborate on special projects.
• Assess capacity gaps and opportunities to improve food rescue operations.
• Oversee ongoing reporting and data collection to support continued growth and optimization.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
