Role Description

The Specialty Operations Pharmacy Technician 2 supports Pharmacists in Specialty Rx medication preparation by dispensing Specialty Rx medications. The role involves:

• Performing varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments.
• Contacting physicians for prescription clarification and entering prescription orders into the system.
• Ensuring adherence to Specialty Rx specific operational processes and programs developed to optimize health outcomes.
• Making decisions focused on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments.
• Working within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards.
• Following standard policies/practices with some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.

Qualifications

• Must have an active Pharmacy Technician license with the Board of Pharmacy in the state you reside.
• Must be certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
• Experience as a Pharmacy Technician or inbound and/or outbound phone experience.
• Ability to manage multiple or competing priorities, including use of multiple computer applications simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Adaptable with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong data entry skills.

Requirements

• Training: Virtual training starts on day one of employment and will run for the first few weeks with a schedule of either 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM OR 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern, Monday - Friday.
• Work Schedule Following Training: Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM EST.
• Work at Home Requirements: Minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps; a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information.
• Travel: Occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.
