Role Description
The Sr. Medical Director is responsible for providing medical, scientific, and strategic leadership across assigned brands and accounts. This individual serves as a senior medical partner to clients and cross-functional teams, ensuring that all communications are scientifically accurate, strategically aligned, and clinically relevant.

Translates complex clinical data, disease-state information, and treatment landscapes into compelling and actionable recommendations that inform brand strategy and creative development.

Works closely with Account, Strategy, Creative, Editorial, Experience, and MLR teams to drive high-quality healthcare communications that resonate with healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and other key audiences.

Mentors junior medical team members, contributes to business development opportunities, and serves as a trusted advisor to both clients and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications

Advanced scientific degree required (MD, PharmD, PhD, DO, DNP, or equivalent).

8+ years of healthcare communications, pharmaceutical advertising, medical education, or related experience.

Significant agency experience supporting pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients.

Demonstrated expertise in one or more therapeutic areas such as oncology, immunology, rare disease, neuroscience, cardiovascular, respiratory, or metabolic disorders.

Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations and Medical/Legal/Regulatory review processes.

Proven ability to translate scientific complexity into clear strategic recommendations.

Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Experience building trusted client relationships and leading cross-functional teams.

Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of quality and scientific rigor.

Lead interactions with key opinion leaders, investigators, and healthcare provider experts.

Mentor and develop scientific directors, medical directors, and other members of the medical team.

Contribute to new business opportunities, pitches, and agency thought leadership initiatives.
