[Hiring] Senior Injury Management Nurse @Sanford Health

Role Description

Responsible to promote a safe and healthy workforce and environment.

• Implements the nursing process within the Sanford injury management department and the continuum of care.
• Utilizes the nursing process to:
  • Assess
  • Diagnose
  • Establish a plan with outcome criteria
  • Intervene
  • Evaluate
  • Document human responses to actual or potential health problems
• Responsible to triage all employee injuries to assess the need for initial and ongoing medical treatment and coordinate the return to work processes.
• Provides education to injured workers regarding workers compensation and troubleshooting of questions and concerns relative to the prevention and control of transmission of infection.
• Travel is a requirement for this position, which may include:
  • Team meetings
  • Training
  • Third party administrator meetings
  • Claim reviews
  • Broker meetings
  • Other meetings

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing; Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
• Six years of nursing experience required; experience in Employee Health/Occupational Health preferred.
• Good physical assessment skills and a self-starter with excellent time management.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position.
• Nurses performing nursing practice over the telephone require licensure in the states where the patients being treated.
• Functions within the legal scope of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) preferred as soon as eligible.
• Current valid driver’s license, and must meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category III drivers.
